Withering Realms Updates Hub

Early Access scope, the 2027 1.0 plan, and a place to hang later patch notes.

Updates Hub

This hub is the change log for Withering Realms on Steam. Early Access on 2 September 2026 is the first public build from Moonless Formless, and the months after that build exist to catch bugs, overpowered talisman stacks, and broken weapon crafts before the 1.0 pass in 2027. If you only need the size of the first package, open Early Access scope. If you want the longer arc — extra languages, consoles, New Game+, and optional content — use the roadmap. If you played the Next Fest slice, compare it with the demo notes.

Patch notes, trailer context, and “what changed” questions belong here. How to play questions belong in Guides. Loadout questions belong on the build ranking. Hardware, menus, and the slash-key reporter belong in Tools. Official URLs sit on the links hub. Keep those four doors separate so a balance complaint does not get buried inside a walkthrough.

Withering Realms is a single-player horror action RPG. It is not a roguelike. Some rooms shuffle when you enter them, but death does not wipe crafts, talismans, or story flags. It is also not a required sequel. The campaign stands alone from Withering Rooms; you can finish Clover’s story without touching the earlier game. Steam lists achievements, Steam Cloud, full controller support, DualShock, DualSense, and Family Sharing. There is no multiplayer mode in the listed features.

The 2 September 2026 snapshot

The Early Access build includes the entire main story from start to finish. Moonless Formless listed fifty weapons and tools, seventy talismans, seven large dungeons with bosses, puzzles, and loot, one hundred and ten monsters for the bestiary, and the town of Penwyll as a living hub. That is a complete campaign, not a vertical slice and not a demo with a paywall in the third dungeon.

End-game modes, extra side quests, New Game+, extra languages, and more polish are planned during Early Access on the way to 1.0 in 2027. They are not a reason to skip the first build. They are a reason to expect the meta to move. If a talisman pair deletes a boss this week, assume a later pass may tone it down. If a craft feels weak, file a report instead of waiting for a secret patch that nobody announced.

The Steam listing is a paid title. This wiki does not print a number because store prices move; check the Steam store page for the current figure. App ID 3441990 is the product to follow for news, Cloud saves, and refunds.

Why the game is in Early Access

The developer is blunt about the public period. Expect bugs. Expect broken or overpowered builds. Expect talisman combinations that flatten encounters. Community feedback is the point, not a marketing sticker. A community beta in August 2026 logged 24,545 monsters killed and 140 bugs fixed. That tweet is useful context for how fast issues can move. It is not a promise that the September build is spotless.

If something is unfair, unreadable, or crashed, send a report instead of assuming 1.0 balance is already locked. The in-game tool is the slash key (/), and it also lives on the pause menu. A good report attaches a screenshot and a save. Discord, the Steam Community hub, and support@moonlessformless.com are the other official channels. Step-by-step reporter notes live on settings and bug reports.

How this wiki will log patches

When Steam news or Discord posts a numbered patch, this hub should grow a dated page. Until those notes exist, treat Early Access scope as the day-one baseline and the roadmap as the 2027 target. Do not invent patch numbers from a screenshot on social media. Do not treat a balance tweet as a full changelog.

A useful patch page, when one is written, should answer four questions: what broke, what got cheaper or more expensive to run, which dungeons or night routes changed, and whether a save is still valid. “More polish” without a list of systems is not enough for a wiki entry. If a note only says “performance,” send people to system requirements and the Perf HUD rather than pretending a GPU tier changed.

New players should still start with Getting Started even if they arrived here from a trailer. Build experimenters should keep the build ranking open while they file reports, so a “this melted the boss” note includes the actual loadout. Hardware complaints belong next to the spec table, not in a story recap. Confirm dates on witheringrealms.com and Steam before you plan a console purchase or a language pack.

Keep this hub bookmarked the way you would a patch channel, not a lore dump. When a balance pass lands, the useful question is which talisman pair got nerfed, not whether Penwyll still exists. Clover’s campaign is the spine of the first build; the updates that follow are about making that spine fair, stable, and readable on more hardware.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Penwyll, the doll, and Early Access.

When does Withering Realms enter Early Access?

Early Access on 2 September 2026 for PC via Steam (app 3441990). It is a paid title; check Steam for the current price.

Does the first build include the whole main story?

Yes. The Early Access build includes the campaign from start to finish, plus fifty weapons and tools, seventy talismans, seven large dungeons, one hundred and ten monsters, and the town of Penwyll.

Why call it Early Access if the story is complete?

Moonless Formless expects bugs, broken or overpowered builds, and strong talisman combos. Extra end-game modes, optional content, side quests, New Game+, polish, and more languages are planned during Early Access toward 1.0 in 2027.

Where should I send bugs and balance notes?

Use the slash-key reporter in-game so the file includes a screenshot and a save. You can also post on Discord or Steam Community, or email support@moonlessformless.com. See settings and bug reports.

Is this a roguelike or a Withering Rooms sequel?

Neither. Some rooms shuffle on entry, but death does not wipe items or story progress. The campaign is a standalone story in the same universe. Start with Guides if you want the fiction and systems in one place.

Where is the 1.0 and console plan?

The roadmap covers the 2027 full release, extra languages, consoles after Early Access, and the optional systems still being added.
